Vulcanico Rosso
State of the wine
Vulcanico Rosso is a non-vintage Pinot Noir. It is conceived as a reliable red wine, consistent over time. Not a project wine. Not an experiment. But a fixed part of the work.
Origin
Kaiserstuhl. Southwest-exposed sites on volcanic soils.
Work in the vineyard and cellar
The grapes are harvested slightly overripe. Fermentation in open oak vats for around two weeks. Daily punch-downs. Pressing shortly before the end of fermentation. Ageing for eight months in oak barrels.
Style
A clear, fruit-driven Pinot Noir. Not loud, but precise. Brings depth and warmth.
